Word Press and Patreon Issues

Some of you may be experiencing problems logging on to our website with Patreon. Posts are still locked after signing in. I am sorry this is happening, if this is you! I have a member account that I use to test things, and I was unable to see the comics I was supposed to see at fortfamilyroom.com. I was able to fix this by using incognito mode on my browser (Chrome) by hitting CTRL+SHIFT+N. I then logged in with Patreon, and had to click join again. This fixed things. Later, when I went back to sight, I saw that they had stayed fixed in normal browser mode. I hope this helps!

We are now, as of today, posting again on our Facebook Subscriber Hub. If you don’t like Patreon for some reason, and still want member benefits, you can subscribe on Facebook. For $4.99 a month you will get early access to new comics, exclusive comics, and uncensored comics.

Have a good one!

New $10, Senior Family Member Patreon Tier!

I created a $10/per month, Senior Family Member, subscription tier on Patreon today. Those joining at this level get a high-resolution download of new Fort Familyroom comics, and can access behind the scenes timelapse videos showing the creation of new cartoons. The links to download the high-res strips will be posted to the “High-Resolution Download” collection on our Patreon page. They will be 300 dpi .tif files. The videos will be posted on our website, fortfamilyroom.com, in a new “Behind The Scenes” collection. I can’t upload videos directly to Patreon yet, but links to the videos will be posted there. All the benefits from lower tiers will also be available to the Senior Family Member tier.

About Fort Familyroom (Part 2)

Besides Keith, the other main characters of Fort Familyroom are Carmelita, Tyler, Pete, and Shammer. Carmelita is Keith’s wife of thirty-plus years. She was his dependa while he was in the army. She’s an apron-wearing naive housewife that uses the word, goodness a lot, and calls everyone, sweetie.

Tyler is thirty-something, and is the oldest son of the Creegers. He’s the deadpan everyman of the comic. He still lives with his parents and his only job is as a military working cat handler in the national guard.

Pete, the youngest in the family, is in his early teens. He wears a kevlar helmet because he wants to be a soldier, like his dad, when he grows up. He doesn’t want to enlist, though. He wants to go in as an officer. He tries to use army jargon but it comes out in the form of malapropisms.

Shammer is the Creeger’s calico cat. He used to be a military working cat, but now serves as Keith’s service animal. He communicates with hand written notes and smokes like a chimney.

About Fort Familyroom

Fort Familyroom is a gag-a-day comic strip about a Cold War veteran, and his family, in the modern civilian world after the army. The title is an alliterative play on the term, Fort Livingroom, which is the place you PCS to when you get out of the service. When I started the comic in 2019, fortlivingroom.com was taken, and I had to come up with an alternate website URL.

The main character, Keith Creeger, is an author surrogate character based on me. He’s a lifer juice-drinking bro-vet that drops lots of f-bombs. His last name is an Americanized version of the German surname, Krieger, which means warrior.

That’s all for now. I’ll continue this article in future newsletters. Have a good day!

Don’t Forget To Visit Our Website!

So, Patreon was supposed to roll out a few new features today. One of which was the ability to post videos for adult (18+) content creators. This was delayed on their end for a month or so. I was planning a creating a higher tier with behind the scenes videos, but that will have to wait.

Just a reminder, the best place to read Fort Familyroom, as a subscriber, is on our website at fortfamilyroom.com. You can scroll through the censored, uncensored, Patreon exclusive, and archived comics. They are organized into collections, which are accessible from the homepage. The website is linked to our Patreon page, and everything that’s supposed to be is behind a paywall. You can log in there with your Patreon account to see everything you pay for as a member. I’ve also been adding the reels we make for Facebook into the posts lately.
